The Tsai Center for Innovative Thinking at Yale ‘Meet and Greet’ events are 60-minute interactive sessions that provide new ideas for participating alumni to reconnect with the innovation ecosystem at Yale from their respective cities. Participants not only gain insights into Yale's evolving entrepreneurship landscape but also learn how their wisdom, expertise, and guidance can significantly contribute to nurturing the creativity of current Yale students. The sessions conclude with a networking segment, allowing for further interaction and engagement.

Rajita Sinha, PhD (YSM ’93) is the Foundations Fund Endowed Professor of Psychiatry, Founding Director of the Yale Interdisciplinary Stress Center at the Yale School of Medicine, and Professor of Neuroscience and of Child Psychiatry.
Melinda Ann Marmer, PhD, MFT brings extensive experience in clinical disaster relief engagement, including in the Loma Prieta earthquake and Tubbs Fire.
Eleanor Pepples (YC ‘86), MBA, Yale Club of SF Board Director, YANA SF/Bay Area Chair will moderate.

What: The Sky Is for Everyone, a talk by Professor Meg Urry
Prof. Urry will describe recent results from the James Webb Space Telescope that show an excess of compact galaxies less than 1 billion years after the Big Bang. She will explain the lively debate about whether these objects host massive black holes in their first growth spurt. She will then talk about why there are still too few women in science and how she became an astrophysicist at a time when there were very few role models. There will be plenty of time for Q&A—on these topics or anything else about astrophysics or being an outsider in science.Cost: $30/person. Your ticket includes heavy apps and non-alcoholic beverages.
